Wiley Medical MedlinePlus Health Information The efficacy and safety of pro-yellow laser treatment for the management of vascular skin lesions was reported in study data published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. In a study of patients with myriad vascular skin conditions, treatment with 577-nm pro-yellow laser was associated with substantial improvement in lesion size and appearance. Treatment was well tolerated by all patients. Although pro-yellow laser is an established treatment method for diabetic retinopathy, only a limited number of studies have evaluated its efficacy and safety for the management of vascular skin lesions. To close this gap, investigators retrospectively assessed the outcomes of patients who received treatment with a pro-yellow laser at a dermatology clinic in Turkey. Patients with a clinical diagnosis of any vascular skin condition were eligible for inclusion; their demographic data and clinical history were extracted from medical records. All patients received treatment with the same laser apparatus at 4-week intervals. Treatment efficacy was assessed through clinical examination performed at baseline and 4 weeks after the last laser session. Improvement was rated by clinicians on an ordinal scale based on level of lesion improvement “excellent” 75% to 100% improved, “very good” 50% to 74%, “good” 25% to 49%, and “poor” less than25%. Adverse events were catalogued and reported. A total of 74 patients received pro-yellow laser treatment at the participating dermatology clinic. Their mean age was years and the majority were women. Patient skin phototypes ranged from Fitzpatrick type 2 to type 3 Various vascular skin conditions were represented in the cohort, including facial telangiectasia n=37, erythematotelangiectatic rosacea n=13, port-wine stain n=6, spider angioma n=6, venous lake n=6, cherry angioma n=4, and scrotal angiokeratoma n=2. The mean number of laser sessions varied by diagnostic group, and ranged from 1 to Very good to excellent improvement was observed in the majority of the study cohort. Among patients with facial telangiectasia, and experienced excellent or very good improvement, respectively. In patients treated for rosacea, experienced excellent improvement, experienced very good improvement, and experienced good improvement. In patients with venous lake, results were evenly divided between excellent 50% and very good 50% improvement. All patients with cherry angioma, spider angioma, and scrotal angiokeratoma experienced excellent improvement following laser treatment. The only reported adverse event was erythema in the treatment area, which resolved within 24 to 48 hours of laser application. Treatment efficacy was not significantly associated with patient age, sex, or skin phototype. Based on these results, pro-yellow laser is an effective, safe option for the management of vascular skin lesions. However, because the trial did not enroll patients with severe vascular problems, results cannot be extrapolated to more serious lesions. “[The] pro-yellow laser provides efficient results without side effects like edema, petechia and purpura,” investigators wrote. “The pro-yellow device is small, compact, user friendly and has [an] integrated cooling system [and] these features make it practical for daily use in dermatology clinics.” Reference Aksoy Sarac G, Onder M. Published online April 19, 2021. doi Sun damage, dark spots, and unwanted pigmentation are skin imperfections that many people go to great lengths to hide or remove. Featured on The Doctors television show, one patient finally achieved the results she longed for using the QuadroStarPRO YELLOW laser after years of failed treatments and expensive temporary solutions for concealing her melasma. During this special episode of The Doctors, we meet Trisha, a PR consultant and TV host based in Las Vegas. Due to the public nature of her work, she must always be camera-ready and able to put her best foot forward. We learn that Trisha has struggled with melasma, sun damage, and Lupus for more than 20 years, causing her skin to appear uneven with dark spots and redness. Feeling self-conscious of her skin's natural appearance, Trisha avoids public outings with her daily heavy makeup coverage sometimes spending more than $750 a month on cosmetics. Trisha has tried many laser treatments, including IPL, but has never achieved lasting results. During her consultation, Dr. Gregory Mueller, a board-certified plastic surgeon, recommends treatment with the QuadroStar PRO YELLOW laser. Almost immediately after her first treatment with the PRO YELLOW, Trisha is thrilled by her initial results, even noting some dark spots had already vanished. Thanks to the PRO YELLOW's unique yellow wavelength and other optimized features, it's become the ultimate solution for melasma, vascular lesions, dark spots, and more, similar to Trisha's unwanted pigmentation. With the help of the PRO YELLOW's innovative technology, Trisha is finally able to enjoy lasting results and feel confident in her skin without heavy foundation and makeup. The yellow 577 nm wavelength produced by the QuadroStarPRO YELLOW lies at the maximum hemoglobin absorption limit. This absorption is 40% higher than that of KTP lasers. Thus it is more selective, allowing for increased precision in targeting unwanted lesions. Maximum hemoglobin absorption levels, unparalleled exactness, and various unique treatment modes make the QuadroStarPRO YELLOW the gold standard for treating vascular lesions. Compared to the green KTP laser 532 nm, The QuadroStarPRO YELLOW requires less fluence to achieve the same results. Because the PRO YELLOW has a lower level of melanin absorption than KTP lasers, it can effectively treat darker skin types with less damage and significantly reduced unwanted side effects such as hypopigmentation. Learn More About the QuadroStarPRO YELLOW The is QuadroStarPRO YELLOW was designed by Germany-based aesthetics leader, Asclepion Laser Technologies, and it is distributed and sold in the United States exclusively by Astanza Laser. What is Pro Yellow Laser? Pro Yellow Laser is a German-engineered Quadrostar that is an improved version of the commonly used Dual Yellow/Combination laser at some clinics. Because of its special wavelength of 577nm, this Pro Yellow Laser represents a gold standard for vascular treatments and epidermal pigmentation treatments. Ultimately, it is a treatment used to treat pigmentation and promote skin rejuvenation. Source CanAm Aesthetic Inc Why the colour yellow? The colour yellow has the ideal wavelength of is 577nm and the QuadroStar Pro Yellow Laser was the first pure yellow in the industry that was successful for skin rejuvenation. This Pro Yellow wavelength provides the best absorption when it comes to treating blood vessels. When compared to the standard green wavelength of 532nm, the yellow wavelength has the ability to produce 40% of higher absorption in the blood. This also means that lesser power is required during the treatment. How deep can the Pro Yellow Laser penetrate the skin? Most of our unwanted dark spots, skin discolouration and redness on the skin are rooted in a deeper vascular network of veins that extend beyond the treatable depths of that the traditional green lasers of 532nm can reach. The inability to address these areas can result in the inability to effectively treat deeper pigmented and vascular issues. Hence, comes the part of the Pro Yellow Laser. This yellow laser has the ability to penetrate much deeper than the standard green lasers that simultaneously address both visible lesions and underlying vessels. Not only that, but this also allows for safer treatment of various skin concerns for light and dark skin. What are the areas or skin concerns benefit from the Pro Yellow Laser? Acne The yellow light from the laser helps treat acne by killing the bacteria that causes it. It also reduced the redness and inflammation simultaneously. Other than that, it also shrinks the sebaceous glands that produce the sebum. Pigmentation With a specific wavelength, the energy from the Pro Yellow laser is absorbed by both the melanin pigments and underlying blood vessels. Hence, resulting in the breaking down of pigments and reducing the blood supply to the skin cells that produce the pigments. Skin rejuvenation This laser energy from the treatment is absorbed into the dermis layer of the skin to not only treat, but improve the support structure of the skin. Hence, making look brighter and feel much tighter and firm. Facials veins and blood vessels As this laser has a high rate of absorption in the red blood cells than any other lasers, it helps reduce the unsightly veins or blood vessels that are on the face. Especially areas like the nose and cheeks. Redness & rosacea caused by dilated blood vessels This yellow laser helps by reducing the size or eliminating the blood vessels that would result in reduced redness on the skin and an even-toned complexion. Also, this laser reduces the red marks that are caused by increased blood circulation by reducing the blood vessels in the area. Vascular conditions Vascular lesions are caused by small and dilated capillaries that appear as red spots or visible threads on your skin. The Pro Yellow Laser can effectively treat them by shrinking the vessels with its yellow light, without causes damage to the capillaries. How does Pro Yellow Laser work? The main reason the Pro Yellow Laser works well is that it is able to penetrate deeper into the tissues. Green lasers with wavelengths of 532nm were tested to treat pigmentation but it did not reach deep enough into the skin to effectively reach the pigmentation and blood vessels that were contributing to these issues. Also, compared to the standard green wavelength, the yellow wavelength is able to produce 40% higher absorption in the blood. This then leads to the advantages of having better comfort during the procedure, a shorter healing time, reduced risks of side effects like blisters burns or pigmentation chance. The other advantages include the ability to treat darker skin types compared to other lasers and sensitive skin like those with rosacea or eczema. First and foremost, you should know that the Pro Yellow Laser is a very safe procedure because the laser does not injure the outermost layer of the skin. When we talk about side effects, the only ones you may encounter are mild redness and swelling. However, these side effects will disappear within hours after the treatment. How many treatments are required? For vascular or pigmented lesions, visible results can be seen in 1 to 3 treatments that are spaced 3 weeks apart. Thereafter, maintenance treatments are also required. Effective and visible results also depend on the severity of the skin condition. However, the outcomes would also depend on the proper diagnosis of the condition of your skin and the chosen treatment parameters or laser settings. How long is a Pro Yellow Laser treatment? Each treatment of the Pro Yellow Laser procedure takes about 45 minutes, which includes time for preparation as well. Is the Pro Yellow Laser treatment painful? Most of those who have gotten this treatment compare it to the feel of laser tingling or a prickling sensation like needles and pins. Also, this treatment is also well tolerated even without the use of anaesthesia. However, if the patients request it, topical anaesthesia will be given. When will the results be visible? The Pro Yellow Laser treatment can provide immediate effects on vascular lesions. For pigmented lesions, visible results are typically visible within the 5th and 10th day, and continued improvements can be seen over a span of 30 days. How much does a Pro Yellow Laser cost in Singapore? Most of the Pro Yellow Laser treatments cost starts from $ However, you should keep in mind that each clinic or establishment have different charges. . 2022 Jan;211242-246. doi Epub 2021 Mar 31. Abstract Background The pro-yellow laser is a yellow light wavelength 577-nm laser system. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disorder that occurs with facial flushing, erythema, papules, pustules, and telangiectasia. Demodex parasites Demodex folliculorum and brevis also play a role in the pathogenesis of rosacea. Aim The aim of our study is to evaluate the effect of pro-yellow laser on demodex density Dd in patients with rosacea. Patients/methods This retrospective study was planned for the patients with rosacea whose demodex mite densities were examined and treated with pro-yellow laser and were evaluated between 2019 and 2020 in the cosmetology unit. The laser light was applied at a dose of 20 J/cm2 in the scanner mode the 80% coverage in all the patients. The demodex density per cm2 was routinely evaluated before the treatment, and the demodex density values in the fourth week after the treatment were recorded from the patients' files. Results There were 27 females and seven males evaluated in the study. While the demodex density was ± min 0-max 48, Q112-Q322 per cm2 before the pro-yellow laser treatment in the cases, the demodex density was ± min 0-max 30, Q1 per cm2 in the fourth week after the treatment. After the pro-yellow laser treatment, the demodex intensity decreased significantly compared to before the laser treatment p = There was no significant correlation between the decrease in the density of the demodex mite and the success of the treatment p = Conclusion This is the first study in the literature investigating the change in demodex density in rosacea patients treated with pro-yellow laser therapy. In this study, it was shown that pro-yellow laser treatment is effective in reducing the density of demodex.
